Yup, a truly awesome performance by Pacquiao! He showed that he's prepared to clean house at 135 lbs and possibly at 140 too, i.e. lightweight and junior welterweight, where he'd have a shot at a brutal taking apart of English hero Ricky Hatton. It's a beautiful thing to see a uniquely talented athlete like this hitting his peak. Students of the game have noticed how good Manny is -- his superior rhythm, alignment, conditioning, speed and fluidity of range -- not only from his performances against Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales, but even more from his controversial two-bout set against Juan Manuel Marquez, a fighter so crafty, dangerous, and marginalized that both Barrera and Morales ducked him. If the guy can handle Marquez, he can handle just about anyone out there. And beyond boxing, he's poised to be a sort of cross-cultural ambassador.
Um, actually, for the moment, the whole thing is here.
