Short and to the point, Kai. Our posts kind of rambled on, but this one put's it all out there in a few words. Great stuff.

it's true, kyle. it's very sharp and to the point. a good summary, declaration, and call to action. mine was more of an outpouring. ranting! but you know, i liked what manuél said: that all of us coming at this from our own angles was good, i feel the same way.

(ancient and immutable is right, 'mano.)

Thanks for the good words, folks. Yeah I guess I kinda got right to the point with this one. And I agree, all different angles of attack is good! Hit the creepoid a few different ways.

Hehe, ya know I actually use the expression "ancient and immutable" in conversation quite a lot, for some reason I really like saying it; I'm surprised I've never written it in the blog before. Well, now I have!

Peace.

Thanks for the info. In passing it on to my readers, I discovered he is now claiming victim status and pointing to Derechos Humanos and Isabel Garcia's protests as un-American. http://www.1041thetruth.com/TheTruthLineup/TheMorningTruth/tabid/2553/Default.aspx

Prof BW, thank you for posting on this and for the additional info. Of course he's trying to play victim now that people are fighting back against his antics.

I guess this moron fails to grasp (or is pretending not to grasp) the difference between Garcia's participation in the smashing of a piñata and his own entirely inappropriate creepfest. I see no parity between a Latina activist protesting the hatemongering of a racist celebrity sheriff in a traditional cultural act of defiance and resistance, and a white male anti-immigrant shock jock sexually violating a life-size doll of that Latina activist. Not that I really have to explain such distinctions here, but sheesh, what an asshat.

Anyway, thanks again, Prof! I'm told that there are still more posts coming down the pipe to join the blogospheric chorus.

Thank you for posting all of this information. Letters and phone calls underway. This almost made me vomit, and I'll do whatever I can to help him get fired.

Kristin, yeah it is pretty much vomit-worthy and yeah he should get fired. Thanks for your support!

Reflection

  • Through holding together, restraint is certain to come about. The yielding obtains the decisive place, and those above and those below correspond with it. Strong and gentle; the strong is central and its will is done. This is called the Taming Power of the Small.

Highlights

  • Immigrant Dreams and Nightmares in the White Supremacist Cauldron (May-2007)
The tired, the poor, the huddled masses of dream-hungry immigrants coming across the Pacific — like those coming across the deserts and rivers along the Southern US border — have never been greeted by a Mother of Exiles.
  • Ongoing Echoes from the Women of the Long House (Feb-2009)
The word Haudenosaunee (pronounced "ho-de-no-SHO-nee") means "People of the Long House" and refers both to the architectural style of their wood-framed living structures and to the inclusivity of their society. The connection between the Haudenosaunee and early US feminists is not tenuous; it is plainly documented.
  • The Palin’ Identity (Nov-2008)
The reason why the McCain-Palin campaign has appeared erratic throughout the election season is that their strategic communications have been conceived and crafted according to the language of implicit cultural code rather than explicit thematic cohesion.
  • The Whiteness Problem (Apr-2009)
The backhanded boycott of the historic UN anti-racism conference in Geneva by mostly-white diplomats from Western nations is farcical on its face and provides a handy illustration that the great problem of the 21st century is the whiteness problem.
  • Time to Throw the Traders Out the Temple (Oct-2008)
The Wall Street racket is essentially a colossal debt pyramid which must continually convince or coerce people to feed it so that money keeps getting funneled upward while risk gets distributed downward.

Pictures of the Mind

August in Connecticut

  • Butterfly
Midsummer, the woods of Southwestern Connecticut buzz with bright pastoral magic. This gallery attempts to capture a quick arbitrary sliver of that brightness. Most of these pictures were taken in my immediate neighorhood; some were shot at Wampus Pond; some at the Audubon Fairchild Wildflower Garden.
